Following the success of the first edition (2020), ZFD reaffirms its role as a unique inter-Balkan and European platform, workshop and tool for cultural, economic and international exchanges in the crucial field of audiovisual entertainment fiction.

With Book and Television Series as its focal points, the second edition (ZFD2.0) extends its scope to the professional mentoring of young creators, cross-border development and multicultural collaboration and the systematization of collaborations between professionals in the publishing and audiovisual space. The purpose of the meetings will be to promote and develop the writing of scripts and adaptations of novels/ short stories/ narratives, in television series.

Five innovations give a new place to Zagori Fiction Days 2.0: a) the establishment of the institution of the 3 guest countries: Israel, Italy and England, b) the creation of a Critics' Club, c) the introduction of the Case Study, d) the creation of a Round Table of Academic Experts, e) the establishment of a conference Music Composition and Fiction with the participation of the Union of Greek Composers.

A uniqueness of program, vision, approach, goals and commonalities differentiate Zagori Fiction Days 2.0 from other existing European and Balkan "mainstream" festivals - such as the French Festival of Television Fiction Festival de la fiction de La Rochelle or the Frankfurt International Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse), which increasingly focus on the purely commercial nature of the market for book adaptation rights.

With Zagori Fiction Days 2.0 taking place in an ideal historical and geographical, European and Balkan landscape, in the Northern Pindos National Park, in Zagorochoria in Epirus (nominated for the UNESCO World Cultural Landscape List), the village of Vitsa is declared for a week the natural capital of international television fiction.

ThePlace2Be: For a week, publishers, writers, screenwriters, directors, producers, content platforms, TV stations, distributors, educators, students and researchers meet, network and collaborate on several international European, Balkan and Greek projects and productions of TV series of fiction.
