European School of Brussels III

Thirty-two children aged 16, boys and girls, pupils of the European School III Brussels from various language departments (French, German, Spanish, Dutch, English) accompanied by two teachers, spent a unique six days knowing the area, learning about Greece and its mountainous countryside, enjoying nature.

They visited the Information Center of V. Pindos National Park, the archeological site of Dodoni, the Cave of Ioannina, the Folklore Museum of Elafotopos, the Museum of Ali Pasha and the Byzantine Monasteries on the island of Lake Ioannina, Oxyria Friday in Monodendri, places of unique view in the ravine of Vikos.

They rafted on the river Voidomatis, went down the stairs (cobbled path) of Vitsa and reached the Bridge of Missi, one of the most famous stone single-arched bridges of Zagori. They did parkour exercises in Vitsa square.

In Elafotopos, in the agro-tourist hostel Rokka, they learned from Lena Gerothanasi how to weave on the loom, to dye the wool in a natural color, how to make handicrafts from sheep wool. They also visited Aristi and Megalo Papigo.

In the next country they walked at night enjoying the night sky while singing around the fire they lit.

It was a school trip different from all the others. Coordinated country in its spirit, for physical and spiritual pursuit, respect for nature and the environment, natural and man-made. The children returned to Brussels with unique memories and experiences. They completed the evaluation forms thus giving valuable feedback to the organizers.
