EU towards federalisation and Epirus towards Europenization

To celebrate Europe Day 9th May we organised a nice gathering inspired by the unique Tymphi view at the land beyond, in Vitsa at Zagori, Epirus about the federal perspective of the EU and the Eu perspective of Epirus region on Sunday 7th May afternoon.

Among participants  were Thanasis Mantalovas, parliament candidate with PASOK Ioanninon, Nikos EXARHOU, Mayor of Konitsa, Kostis Vlahopoulos, parliament candidate Ecologist, Rigas Tsiakiris, forester, Lefteris Zarkadas, candidate Mayor of Zagori, Dimitris Dimakos, Regional Councilor in Igoumenitsa, Otto Kaisaris parliament candidate with Liberals, Katerina Kalogirou, member of the Ioannina Bar Association and President of Greek Federalists of Epirus,  Stefanos Panakoulias, founder of ICSD. The debate was moderated by Dafni Gogou, President of the Greek Union for Federalism.

It is true that the European idea is having a rough time nowadays, like the international multilateral cooperation. The enemy is visible and is next to us. However as there is no other viable alternative of preserving peace and having liberty, democracy and sustainable prosperity at the same time, we stay obliged to make it work.
