Walking & Talking with the Center for the Study of the Hellenic Language and Culture

On the 8th of July, the team of The Land Beyond gladly welcomed 30 students who participated in the Summer Greek Language and Culture Program, students of the Summer Greek Language and Culture Program for Epirotes abroad and Expatriates of Georgia. This was a program of the Center for the Study of Hellenic Language and Culture (HeLaS) of DI.K.E.P.P.E.E. « Stavros Niarchos» of the University of Ioannina that aims to promote the epirotic cultural heritage, strengthen the bonds with the Epirotes abroad as well as their contact with the Greek language and culture. For years, the Center has been developing educational and research activities with the main focus on the love of the Greek language and Greek culture, intercultural and multicultural contact and interaction of young people from all over the world with a vision of peace and friendship between peoples. In the framework of the Summer Program, two very beautiful actions took place in the area of ​​Zagori. The students enjoyed a Walking & Talking hike by Mr. Nicos Yannis to the monastery of Prophet Ilias, admired the unobstructed view of Monodendri, were guided around the sites of The Land Beyond, were informed about the history of the building and the surrounding area and generally lived a special experience.  On Thursday, July 11th, the students went for rafting on the Voidomatis River in a mysterious atmosphere, as the light rain made the place even more evocative and impressive!
