Bridges, Fifteen Villages

Vikos Crossing has become a milestone established activity at the land beyond. This year took place from 9 until 16 of August under the theme "Bridges”.

On Saturday 11th of August we had the pleasure to attend the following presentations: Maria Balodimou on the Bridges of Zagori, Eleftheria Tsakanika on the Bridge of Plaka, Sotirios Theofanis on ports industry as "bridges” and Giannis Sakiotis. about seas – perceived as bridges confronting walls and isolationism in the global scale.

On Tuesday, 14th of August we enjoyed an all-day hiking, visiting four villages, starting from Vitsa stairs and Missios Bridge to Koukouli, where we stayed at Vikogiatros and visited the Lazarides Museum, then to Kipoi for lunch and finally at Dilofo for a coffee before returning to Vitsa at dusk. It has been a rich, fruitful hiking experience for everyone!

Last but not least, the crossing of Vikos gorge was successfully accomplished for one more year, the rafting and a guided tour at agrotourism guest house «Roka» at Elafotopos

By joining the traditional panigyri of Vitsa on the 15th August, this year’s Vikos crossing activity reached its end.
