Ten years after the start, the entry into the second period and the maturation of the idea in the land beyond, is reflected in the new logo. The shape of the logo is inspired by the rosette. The rosette is a radial decorative shape like a rose with open leaves, the ancient Greek rose. It is a solar symbol that has always been an amulet (like knowledge), carved on the metopes of temples and houses and worn as a jewel by humans. It was first used in the Mycenaean era and continuously until today through the classical and Christian times in Greece and is found in one form or another in other ancient civilizations. The number of leaves indicates the symbolism. The four elements of nature (precious oxygen, written in stone, running water, eternal forest), the seven wonders of the ancient world (seven our lucky number, expression of harmony and order in nature, as many as the days of creation), the twelve Gods of Olympus (the peak of Mytikas as a pantheon, pantheon of all gods), the global influence of the Kings of Macedonia (among them the Epirotissa Didamia I, sister of Pyrrhus).
Our rosette as an eight-petalled rosette is connected to the planet, the four leaves of which establish it on earth, which can nourish us all biologically and mentally if we respect it as much as ourselves, while the other four open like a hug to heaven, beyond the limits and restrictions, conflicts and wars, unhealthy habits, natural softness and immobility, which bring about decay, both physical and mental. Freedom (foundation and end), participation (I participate: I share something with someone else, opposite: I abstain, I am excluded), a world (because we are all human, that is, we look up, all different and all together). The old threshing floor, transformed as a theater very soon, between Vitsa and Monodendri, where people once met, the public from both villages to discuss their issues, is the rose of beauty, balance and optimism. Product of nature, knowledge and culture. Citizens of the world, green communities, knowledge center.
A knowledge center as modern and old, with open thinking since 1876. As a byte consists of 8 bits, in the Library, right next to the theater-threshing floor, we have eight places for reading, inspiration and writing, eight leaves like a rosette. The new visit cards of the land beyond with the new logo were printed on 100% recycled paper, with FSC certification, the world's most authoritative sustainable forest management solution (fsc.org/en).
